KapelisIP was established to help technology companies make better commercial and strategic use of their intellectual property.

Built on experience

KapelisIP was founded by Kai-Erik Elers, PhD and Executive MBA, who brings more than 30 years of experience in deep-tech industry, innovation, intellectual property, licensing and commercialization.

His background includes:

  • 17 years in senior IP advisory, licensing, governance and commercialization roles at VTT
  • approximately 50 granted US patents as inventor or co-inventor
  • 15 years of semiconductor and deep-tech industry experience in Finland and the United States
  • preparation and management of US patent enforcement projects together with external counsel and enforcement partners
  • leadership experience in start-ups, IP strategy, funding and restructuring
